Our Time is Running Out... Can You Help Us?

The Story:
Many U.S. shelters are facing a pet overpopulation crisis. There are so many stray and abandoned pets that all the dedication and volunteer work in the world can't accomodate the numbers. Many dogs and puppies who are very adoptable are put to sleep due to overcrowding in the shelters.
Animalert, along with several other animal rescue groups in our area, work with these U.S. shelters to try and bring adoptable dogs over the border to save them from euthanization. There is an incredible network of volunteers who work together to transport the dogs here. They arrive with all of their necessary vaccinations.
The Dogs:
It is heart-breaking to see the dogs that are being given a death sentence due to overcrowding. Many are friendly, wiggly puppies and popular, smaller breed dogs that are so adoptable in our area. They simply don't get the chance they deserve.
How You Can Help These Dogs:
We need more foster homes in order to save these innocent dogs and puppies. When you offer to foster a dog, we can pull them out of the shelter and transport them here to safety. With so many dogs at the shelters, you literally have your pick of what sort of dog you would like to foster. Large, small, young, old, they are all there waiting for a guardian angel.
Once the dog is here, we work to find a permanent family to adopt them. These dogs are so adoptable, it doesn't take long! Or, you can foster-to-adopt if you feel the dog fits perfectly in your family.
Please considering fostering to help these lost souls.

If you are unable to help by fostering, you can also make a donation:
Your generous donations allow us to pay the pull fee required by some U.S. dog pounds to get them out and bring them to Canada; we also use the money to pay for the required veterinary care to bring them across the border.
We are extremely happy to say that the dogs pictured on this page were rescued from euthanization, thanks to the help of many animal rescue networks.
